The bad news is that your attacks from both hands now suffer a -4 to hit. Your Dexterity bonus to hit with missile weapons can counter this to zero. Basically, if you have a +1 to hit with missile weapons, then your 'to hit' is -3. +2 would be -2, +3 would be -1, and +4 and up would be 0.

Weapon Specialization does not work when wielding two weapons unless both weapons are the specialized weapon.

Medium (primary hand) and small sized melee weapons (off hand) can only be used, or two small sized weapons. Fighters that specialize in a medium sized weapon can duel wield both. If you are a halfling or other smaller race, you can only use two small weapons.

Duel wielding two medium sized weapons (without weapon specialization) or using a large weapon combined with a smaller weapon (18 strength required) results in a -6 to hit for both weapons and -2 damage from each.

Duel wielding two large weapons requires a natural strength of 19 and requires that both weapons be a weapon you specialize in. A -6 to hit and -2 to damage will still apply for each weapon.
Thu, 12 Feb 2009 15:47:26 -0600 http://www.taintedheroes.com/forums/message/4705 /forums/message/4705 Kills - DM
Experience points will be split for each kill among those that contributed to it's demise. Your alignment must align with what your God allows for their worshipers.

If your behavior changes in the game too much outside your alignment, then the DM will change it to the appropriate alignment and your chosen God will reject you. You will have to pick a new God to worship or choose not to worship any. Any classes based on alignment will be lost and you will be downgraded to a base class. All abilities associated with your previous class will be lost.
Thu, 12 Feb 2009 14:32:08 -0600 http://www.taintedheroes.com/forums/message/4695 /forums/message/4695 Picking Your Starting Attributes - DM
- All attributes will start at 9.

- You will get 22 points (24 for humans) to distribute as you wish to your attribute scores - 16 is the max value you can have for any one attribute (for now).

-Once you have picked your attributes, you will need to role to determine which attribute gets a -4. All attributes will be scrutinized throughout the game!
Thu, 12 Feb 2009 14:13:26 -0600 http://www.taintedheroes.com/forums/message/4694 /forums/message/4694 RE: Cathal And Zarron Stats/Rolls - DM
Also, post here what you want for your character's description. I took a stab at Rexor's and Rathgar's. You guys can tell me what you want changed on it.

No history, nothing specific. I just want 'general' descriptions, no more than a few lines long. See how I wrote Rexor's and Rathgar's. Something like that. I might tweek them afterwards as I will be making your histories (this is necessary for the game I have planned).
Fri, 30 Jan 2009 10:51:09 -0600 http://www.taintedheroes.com/forums/message/4465 /forums/message/4465 RE: Cathal And Zarron Stats/Rolls - DM
I almost forgot... click on Rexor and Rathgar's avatars on the left side... you will see how the new character sheets look!
Fri, 30 Jan 2009 10:27:10 -0600 http://www.taintedheroes.com/forums/message/4464 /forums/message/4464 Cathal And Zarron Stats/Rolls - DM
Ok, Rexor and Rathgar where here last weekend and we rolled up their characters here. The online dice roller is working now, so I need Cathal and Zarron to make a few rolls and send me their Attributes.

1. Post your attribute distributions. As per my last forum discussion, here is how you will create your attributes:

- All attributes will start at 9.
- You get 22 points to distribute as you wish to attributes - 16 is the max value you can have for any attribute (for now).
- After each level you go up, you will get 1 attribute point to add where you wish, max of 18 (19 for certain races on certain attributes). After level 15, you will no longer be able to do this.
- *Warning* - Distribute your points wisely! I will be putting emphasis on ALL attributes throughout the game.

2. What is your Alignment?

3. What God will you be worshipping (based on your Alignment)? Cathal, you might need some help picking a God since you don't have that book, so let me know and I will help you out.

4. Log in to the website and use the online dice roller to roll which non-primary attribute will get a -4. This is to make things a little more random. Use the 5 sided dice, and put in 'Weak Attribute' as the Event Code.

5. Use the online dice roller to select the '%' dice and roll. This will be for your secondary skill. Event Code is 'Secondary Skill'.

6. Cathal - I need your spells. Use the Players Handbook and Unearthed Arcane to let me know which ones you want. Don't forget to look at the # of bonus spells you get for a higher Wisdom roll.

Post your attributes here on this topic. Email me if you have questions!
Fri, 30 Jan 2009 10:15:31 -0600 http://www.taintedheroes.com/forums/message/4463 /forums/message/4463 More New Resources And Other Info... - DM
Sorry for being out so long, the whole family came down with some virus that's been floating around. We were all out for a whole week.

New Resources: Check out the 'Resources' link to see the new resources that have been added. Please download these and use them for the online gaming we will be doing.

Dice Roller: This is still not complete, but we are working on it. It should be done soon, I will let everyone know.

Character Creation: We will be seeing each other in person in a few days (except Zarron), so I thought we could just wait till then to create all your Characters. I will get with Zarron personally and help him create his over the phone. This is how the attribute creation part will work:

1. All attributes will start at 9.
2. You get 22 points to distribute as you wish to attributes - 16 is the max value you can have for any attribute.
3. Once you have your character attribute scores complete, I will roll for a random attribute that will get -4. Your main attribute will be excluded from the list.
4. After each level you go up, you will get 1 attribute point to add where you wish, max of 18 (19 for certain races on certain attributes).

*Warning* - Distribute your points wisely! I will be putting emphasis on ALL attributes throughout the game. If you create a super stupid or ugly character, then you will suffer the consequences. For example, if your character is dumb, he may not be able to identify encountered monsters and may not know the appropriate defense/consequences associated with them. Regardless that you might know personally, I will force you to play your character as if they don't know the risks. Also,if you have a super low charisma, people will shun you, pick on you and nobody will trust you (not to mention the fact that you'll never get laid). So be weary... ALL attributes count!
Mon, 12 Jan 2009 06:16:57 -0600 http://www.taintedheroes.com/forums/message/4300 /forums/message/4300 RE: Picking Character Race & Class - Cathal Delano Dhampire
Rathgar be the panzy magic user you really are and lets get this thing started... i'm ready to see Rexor get drunk and sleep with a dwarf
Sun, 11 Jan 2009 05:41:36 -0600 http://www.taintedheroes.com/forums/message/4278 /forums/message/4278 RE: Picking Character Race & Class - DM
I just talked with Rathgar on the phone. For now, he wants to be an elf ranger. So here is the new breakdown:

Rexor - Fighter, Human
Cathal - Cleric, Elf
Zarron - Thief, Human
Rathgar - Ranger, Elf

That leaves us with two thieves, but he said he might change his mind after doing some research.

Peer pressure helps - if any of you want him to consider a different class/race for the betterment of the group, now is the time to voice your opinion.
Tue, 30 Dec 2008 06:07:19 -0600 http://www.taintedheroes.com/forums/message/4105 /forums/message/4105 Pick Your God & Alignment - DM
This is going to be important in the game... especially for the cleric. We're gonna argue about stuff anyway so I say we use whatever rules allow us to use questionable morals to the fullest.
Mon, 29 Dec 2008 08:46:45 -0600 http://www.taintedheroes.com/forums/message/4097 /forums/message/4097 What Edition Of D&D Do We Use? - DM
At first I thought we would use 3rd edition rules, but I think we might just go back to first. The reason being simplicity.... 3rd edition requires us to keep track of skill points and lots of other extra stuff we never did before. Plus its a whole new way to doing attributes.. your Strength, Dexterity, etc all go up into the 30's... its a whole new tracking system.

I am the DM, so I can always change the rules where it makes sense if first editon rules don't make sense in some cases.

Let me know what you think!
Mon, 29 Dec 2008 08:34:26 -0600 http://www.taintedheroes.com/forums/message/4096 /forums/message/4096
